Our Quilt group had a very successful quilting weekend away again and enjoyed lots of great company and lovely food. The next one in September is already fully subscribed to so I have had to start a waiting list.
This time we made these microwave bowl holders which proved very popular.
And this is Audrey's quilt for Siblings Together
I never seem to get as much done as I expect as I worry about the organisation- and checking that everyone else is having a good time --so I have been making up for it since I got home.
I have finished the pin wheel quilt for the Siblings Together charity.
This is the machine embroidered quilt I also started - I just need to add a wide border and I think it will be suitable for a small boy.
It looks as if we will have at least 7 to send to them from the group in the next week or so.
I started my Peter Rabbit fleece quilt for the expected new arrival in the family but I am waiting to add "her" name and date of birth. I know what my brother is going to call her but I am a bit suspicious about embroidering it -as my family is renowned for changing their minds once the baby arrives!!
I also have assembled the quilt I did get started during the weekend away using the 10 minute block pattern and have now embroidered a design in the White cathedral window-like blocks. This just needs quilting and binding.
I received a lovely surprise gift from one of my long standing blogger friends - Sheila at Sew,Cook and Travel from North Carolina, who is one of a small group of people who have been followers ever since I started blogging. She sent me a lovely Lauren Birch fabric coin purse and some fabric pieces. She is such a kind person. We recently shared some emails about tv programmes from each others country's that we love to watch - she likes things like MidSommer Murders and Doc Martin from British tv -whilst we're currently watching the Sons of Anarchy about a motorcyle gang in the USA!!!
I have been very good and not bought much fabric lately - apart from a new layer cake and jelly roll in a design called Whitewashed Cottage by Moda. It is a lovely summery design and I am still deciding what to do with it. So now to try and decide on a design for my Home Sweet Home ATC swap before we head off in our caravan next weekend to York to meet up with friends.
thanks for stopping by
