We have been away to Bolton Abbey in our caravan for a few days and had a great time walking and bird spotting - from the comfort of the van. We saw lots of little blue tits and finches but the best bit was visits by the woodpeckers and squirrels to the feeders near the caravan. This site is only 47 miles away but it felt so peaceful and quiet and we will definitely be going back.
I managed to visit Quilting Antics in Settle and met up with the lovely Anthea who has a wonderful
range of fabrics. I was tempted but limited myself to a bag pattern and fabric pack so can't wait to get that made up .
Siblings Together Quilts
Since getting back I have managed to get the Siblings Together group quilt finished.
Back of quilt is a mix of red and blue plain blocks.
The Seaside quilt, Wacky Cottages quilt and a beautiful quilt by Audrey made from Moda fabric with a cosy fleece backing.
Pin Wheel quilt.
We now have 5 completed quilts - with the possibility of one more as well to go off to Siblings Together .
I have also managed to make a bag for a friend's granddaughter who is horse mad.
The top is for my daughter for her holiday and is a pattern I also bought on holiday last week from Emma Garry in Ilkley. She has a lovely shop just off the car park called EME and is very friendly and helpful. It's a reversible overtop which I think will work well as a holiday top with a belt.
My Patchwork of the Crosses is coming along - I am currently doing the middle joining blocks and then will start the outer white rings around the main blocks to join it all together.
It has been a good project for the doing in the caravan so I might keep adding to it and make it bigger!!
I wanted to post a picture of a great bag made by one of the group at Weekend retreat. Val has made a beautiful bag she designed herself for all her patchwork rulers and cutting boards. It is really beautiful and very practical. She now has orders for one for her daughter and for friends!!!
So that's what I have been up to - and I hope to post a bit more regularly if life does not get in the way!!
I have a big project over the next few months - a wedding quilt for a friend's son who gets married in September so will have to get that started.
Thanks for stopping by
