I'm back from a great week in the Lake District - we had some great weather and I have the photos to prove it!
These were taken at Ullswater which is the largest lake and the last one shows the Steamers which steam up and down the lake and provide a great way to see the beautiful views.
This is one of my favourite views on Derwentwater -it makes a great subject for paintings
These next ones are from Rydall Water - it is famed for its Daffodils in spring - William Wordsworth lived here and wrote about them in his famous poem - but we were amazed by the sight of all these swathes of Bluebells which we have never seen on previous visits.
So lots of images which have sparked off the urge to paint over the coming weeks.
I have finally finished off the Granny Square quilt- it has been washed and it has crinkled up nicely so I am pleased with it.
I did not add too much quilting - just some straight lines as I did not want to distract from the pattern of the blocks.
I am planning on spending a bit more time on the machine embroidery as I have a couple of new designs I have just started. This is from a set of 6 applique leaf blocks which make up into a lovely table runner and the Sunflowers are for my daughter to decorate her Out of School Club this summer.
We are looking forward to our next trip in 2 weeks time to just outside Oxford near the Cotswolds- an area we have never been to before but I'm sure will provide plenty of photo opportunties.
bye for now and thanks for dropping by
