Summer Rain!!

Back from our trip to the Lake District to find  a parcel waiting from Linda at Sewnicely with a min quilt and some gifts from Ireland.  Its is a lovely quilt and I want to hang it in my sewing room  using my new mini quilt hanger which I manged to find on the internet.  I have long admired some of the hangers I have seen people in the USA and Australia have to display their quilts on and found a UK supplier at last.!

We are having some awful weather in the UK  BUT we were very lucky to get some fine days on our  holiday and had a great day out at Sizergh Castle and gardens-  even saw some blue sky!

I think this might make a nice art quilt.

I've not had much time to do much sewing but did make this sweet little cup and saucer from a new pattern from Patchwork Pottery.   I have admired her work for a while and she has just released this pattern so couldn't resist.   I  tried it out and intend to make some more as they will make lovely Xmas gifts filled with sweets or  soaps.
I did enter the competiton at Quilting Gallery this week for embroidered quilts with my Black Rose quilt so if you pop over there there might still be time left to vote.!
I've just had a request to make another very large embroidered quilt so that will be a major task over the next few months - it is to fit a 6 foot wide bed and it will also have two matching pillow shams.  So quite a project !!

Bye for now
Pauline

  1. I loved the Patchwork Pottery - spent a long time on her blog browsing. I saw your quilt at QG, so many lovely quilts this week. Glad you had a great get away and now safely home.

  5. Isn't it nice when the sun finally comes out after the weather has been all gloomy and ugly. It's so refreshing. We've had some terrible weather in Florida lately (not living up to our name "Sunshine State" at all) but thankfully, where I live, we missed the worst of Debby! I love the little fabric cup! Just adorable! I have a British friend who would get a kick out of it filled with goodies. I may have to try it.
