I've been inspired by so many of the comments left after the Leap Day Giveaway and have tried hard not to start too many new projects after following up all new blogs I found.  The one I could not resist was this one from Connie at Quilting by the River.  Her tutorial was so clear and easy to follow that it has come together in no time- I am making it as  a car seat/ buggy cover for another one of my friends new grand babies.

I used some KaffeFassett/ Westminster fabrics which I think will be bright and cheerful.

Connie's blog can be found here

I've also started an english paper piercing bed runner as a surprise for a  friend - I got the book at the Scottish Spring Quilt Event and started straight away cutting out the templates and fabric.  Again I was able to use up some in my stash so feeling quite virtuous this weekend ( after spending in Scotland!!!)

This is lovely new book by Sue Daley and has some great ideas for fast projects using hexagons etc.- especially useful for doing whilst watching TV - particularly all these scandanvian crime thrillers on british TV at the moment!
I've also finished my folder for my swap partner Sabine in Cheryll's Let's Exchange - which is for a notebook/journal cover.   This is another pattern from the Edinburgh Show - one of Anja Townrow's patterns. Again this was a great pattern and I have another one of a sunflower still to do.

And finally I was tempted to try a painted quilt so have drawn out a pattern   called Tulip Delight by Esther Aliu  and I've used coloured pencils with  textile medium and its been really interesting so far- it will make a lovely bed throw if I can get it finished.  This just the first part - it is over 5 foot long !

So lots to report and lots of lovely new blogs to follow !!
